I. appearance
build, pelt » Tall and lithe, Ebonyfeather is no less a cat walking on stilts as some might dare to say. Careful not to laugh as her tongue can speak as many swears as your dictionary holds. That being said, don't mistake this cat for being a member of Windclan, as she is very much a proud warrior of Shadowclan and the depths it holds in its shadows. Ebonyfeather can't help the fact that Starclan decided to bless the young cat with tall legs capable of running great speeds. It's one trait that often has her teased and, if you're brave, her clan origin questioned at times. Despite that, her tall and rather regal-looking posture gives her a sense of authority which she appreciates as who wants a deputy that looks fragile and weak? Certainly not this cat. Ebonyfeather isn't a cat of great muscularity though she still has the defined body of a trained and aged warrior, however young she may still be. Strength has never really been the she-cat's forte though that hasn't ever really bothered her too much as she has speed to account for that. Paired with a long, feathered tail, you may as well title her fastest cat in Shadowclan as her agility and balance exceed what is usually seen in a clan that isn't specialized in fast running.
The she-cat's head is small, defined, and sits with regal posture on her thin neck. Two big half-cut almonds for eyes sit front-facing on either side of a roman nose bridge that slopes to a triangular button nose. Long, almost invisible, whiskers protrude from her muzzle and brows. Ebonyfeather got the feather in her name from the feathering of her fur, and most notably from the gray, soft fur that pops out from within the core of her rounded, triangular eyes as well as from the tops of them. Think of the ears of a lynx and you have Ebonyfeather's. One thing you may notice is Ebonyfeather's soft, hazel-colored gaze but don't let that kitten look fool you. Beneath the midst of a calm and collected look as a blazing fire for a personality. As you travel down the lengths of her body, you'll find that the she-cat is well-muscled and sculpted from moons of practice on the training fields as well as countless spars and few real battles. As mentioned, notable fur feathering covers the entirety of her body and gives her a coat she appreciates in the fall and light winter and a coat she dislikes in the summer.
As far as color goes, her mother granted her the prefix 'ebony' with obvious reason: a very dark brown, almost black, color like timber covers the entirety of her pelt. Her color allows her to fit snugly in Shadowclan as the darkness of the night has her at an advantage as she camouflages in almost perfect if it weren't for her bright eyes. A pale brown like the color of dried mud highlights her neck region and her belly area, giving a soft look to the hardened she-cat. Ebonyfeather is a well-groomed cat that prides her healthy and shiny coat.
ii. personality fiery » Like an untamed fire, Ebonyfeather is a hard she-cat to handle and reign in when she's on her own temperamental rampage. When she is amp'd up, don't take her biting words offensively as she often speaks without thought first when her temper has control of her. But, aside from a few good insults and a stinging glare, Ebonyfeather's fiery personality is what truly defines the she-cat and gives her inner strength. Her confidence, compassion, passion, and quick-temper all stem from the flames her heart holds. If that is drowned, then you have an exposed she-cat. However, it is not often that she is ever burned out for the dark she-cat is not so easily tamed nor does she give up as easily as you may like to think. Ebonyfeather is still a cat learning about herself and she uses the help of others, though she doesn't like to admit it, to control her quick-to-rise temper. Once you come to appreciate and learn to accept the strong and sometimes unbearable passion that emanates from Ebonyfeather, you can find out that true loyalty grows from her as she protects her clanmates and loved ones with a near unbreakable fighting motivation.
compassionate » What you may think when first meeting Ebonyfeather is that she is all fire and sass but once you get past that outer shell, it is easy to see that compassion pools beneath the depths of the heat. If you're a clanmate, you have priority to her devotion to protecting you and her family at all costs. Be careful not to be spoiled by this, however, because if you misuse this compassion once then be ready to accept the consequences. Ebonyfeather is capable of love but she doesn't forgive easily as she is a prideful cat. Ebonyfeather's compassion is one you'd see most commonly shared between a mother and her kits as she isn't looking for anything past a good friend. Her duties as a warrior steal her interest in starting a family.
confident » Pride and confidence shape the she-cat into one that isn't easily intimidated and more into a body that does the intimidating. It is easy to find that Ebonyfeather's confidence is overbearing sometimes when it comes to pushing and shoving however make no mistake, she is confidence with good intention and often tries to instill the same sense of conviction in others. She desperately wants her clan and others to know that, despite being tall or female or any other categorization, she is extremely proud of herself and firm in the belief that her actions are at least justified.
stubborn » Expect to be met with a wall of resistance when trying to sway Ebonyfeather because, with no exaggeration meant, she is firmly set in her ways once she is decided on something. Unfortunately, this is often met with negativity as it doesn't do her good half of the time. Some found it in their hearts to pity whoever had to mentor the angry bull of a she-cat as getting her out of the nest in mornings was near impossible. Ebonyfeather's stubbornness resulted in either threats or bribes, neither of which she dealt too well with. As she grew and learned as well as opened her mind slightly to new ideas, it became easier to train the black cat into a more shape-able and open-minded cat. Being stubborn will always be a trait of Ebonyfeather, though, and no cat can train that out of her, no matter how good of a mentor they may be. Luckily, Ebonyfeather is still a very young cat with a long ways to go and with time and good patience, that brick wall can be worn down brick by brick.

v. role-play sample One, two, three... For what seemed like the fiftieth time in a day to other cats, Reedwhisker sifted through every stack of herbs and made sure everything was order. He wanted nothing to go awry in case someone were to be attacked or a battle broke out. The tom felt he wouldn't have to worry, though. The clans had been fairly even with each other the last few moons despite their major changes and differences. Yet it was like they were all alike in the same way. They wanted only to live and defend their family and friends. Reedwhisker more than understood that.
Comfrey... Reedwhisker frowned. His clanmates always managed to get themselves in some kind of troublesome spin and it would be any day now that they would break one of their bones. Making a mental note, he set his current comfrey stack aside as to remind him that it needed to pick some more eventually, if not soon. A soft breeze blew in through his den, ruffling his fur slightly. It was soft enough not to destroy his organizations and Reedwhisker hastily thanked Starclan for it. It was relaxing and he was suddenly reminded he needed to take a daily breather. As much as he liked working, Reedwhisker was constantly told to get out and take a break every one in awhile. It wasn't healthy to work so much in a day.
The black-and-white tom would agree with no haste. He enjoyed his work and wouldn't trade it in for any other rank any day. Fighting and inflicting wounds upon other creatures just wasn't appealing for him. His only ease with killing was to eat, and he would almost always mentally thank Starclan for the meal. That was another thing. Having a strong connection with Starclan usually always put his mind to ease and being able to visit them for major issues was a gentle reminder that they would always be with him and his clan. Life without them seemed nearly impossible. Rumors spread often on a cat that didn't believe in them and while he accepted their beliefs it still made him inquisitive.
Life without Starclan... huh.. Stepping out of his den, the sun touched his pelt with it's warm rays. It's beauty was it it's peak in the sky and that made for a comfortable feeling in his body. Yawning, Reedwhisker made a decision to take a relaxing but quick nap in order to clear and ease his mind from any lingering stress. He made it a part of his tasks to find a way to let out any stress or anxiety that may have creeped into his mind and a nap at the moment sounded especially pleasing.
Near the edge of his camp was a comfortable looking space for him to stretch out his muscles and sleep peacefully. Padding over calmly, he arched his back and let out another yawn. Pacing his napping area a few times, Reedwhisker finally got settled down and shut his eyes. Peaceful...
