The Rules
general
I. respect everone Respecting the staff may be a given but we also want you to respect everyone on the site. Remember the golden rule, treat others the way you would like to be treated. Also, do not go around attacking people with your opinions/beliefs, they may not think the same way you do but that doesn't mean you should try to make them believe what you do.
II. no spamming Okay, this may be one of the most annoying things ever. And for those of you who don't know what spamming is, it is when someone posts repeatedly on something with no one posting in between their posts, or someone is telling them to stop. Believe me when I say it is annoying and I, nor anyone else on this site will tolerate it.
III. be appropriate This is a pg-13 site, not just according to me but to proboards rules. If you are in any way too inappropriate, it will not only get you banned but it could get our forum deleted if it gets too out of hand. I will allow minimal swearing as long as it is contained. So do not go dropping the f-bomb everywhere, the accessional damn, hell, and ass, are allowed, but again, keep it to a minimum. If I see it too much I may have to become stricter and say no cussing.
IV. no impersonation This is a big no-no. You are not allowed to come online and pretend to be someone else, whether it be a staff member, or just some random member on the site, we will not tolerate it and there is a good chance you could be banned.
V. no stealing Look, I have had people steal from me, it's annoying and it's a big issue, it can sometimes be hard to tell who got it stolen from, especially if they took it from another site. And this isn't simple graphics or tables, it's writings as well such as complete applications. And not only that, it's against the law! So, to prevent any of this and to prevent a big issue that could take forever to resolve, just do not do it!
VI. one account per member This means that every time you make a character you do not have to make a new account. This just makes it easier on everyone so you don't have to remember account usernames and constantly have to switch accounts. Not to mention it is much easier to have a large amount of characters if you wish.

in character I. no word count Yep that's right, on Ephemeral we no not have a word count in place because we accept all levels of roleplayers! You don't have to post six hundred words, but if you want to each post that's perfectly fine. You can also just post one liners and no one will care! Just do whatever feels best and whatever you find to be the best, or just whatever you can do at that particular point in time, it doesn't really matter as long as you are having fun!
II. be realistic This also ties in with god-modeling, it is not possible for your cat to dodge everything and never get hurt in battle. They can also not catch every animal they find, there must be some struggle, something that makes them miss the skill. Also, this brings in you can not control someone else's character. That means your cat can not attack them and say it hit with tremendous force bringing its much larger foe plummeting to the ground. You must give the other role-player room to react, room to either jump out of the way, attack back, or be attacked and pushed to the ground. This can be a problem and we will be watching and if you see anyone doing this pm a staff member and we will handle it.
III. no killing You are not allowed to kill someone else's character. Unless, you have permission from them or they asked you to kill off their character. And if you wish to do this it must first be okayed by a staff member. we don't need a bunch of characters being killed. But there is a good chance we will say yes, so don't sweat it.
IV. pregnancy I feel I should talk about it so there is no confusion. First, in order for your cat to become pregnant, your character must have a mate/someone who is the father of the kits. We can't have a bunch of kits with no father. But if you wish the father to stay anonymous amongst the kits/clan, that is fine, but there must be one and you must say who it is. If the father is from another clan we will have to think about it. Once you have things sorted out as to who the father is, you must then post in the kitting board located under plotting & tracking. Staff will then generate a litter of kits, with their coat colors, disabilities/illnesses, and everything else.
V. liquid time is allowed Liquid time is when characters are in several threads at once at the same time. On this site, it is allowed, but to a point. we don't want you to be in so many threads that you can't keep up with them. So just be in as many threads as you are able to handle, thank you.
VI. take turns What I mean by this, is I want you to take turns posting. If there are four people in a thread, it would be best to establish a posting order from the get-go, so that two people simply start posting without the others and they're simple left out in the cold. Now, if it's someones turn and they haven't responded in a week, then I will allow the next person to post. This also goes for if a cat leaves the thread, the rest are allowed to continue the role-play without them if they wish. And once a thread is finished, the threads creator will post in the finished thread posy and it will be moved to the archives and participants will earn their allotted prey.
