with silent pawsteps, the large figure moved gracefully through the evening with the intent of contributing more heavily to the fresh-kill pile back at camp. it wasn't lacking too much, but it certainly wasn't plentiful, either. regardless, the big tabby was awfully bored hanging around camp uselessly after finishing all of her duties for the day. while most cats were sharing tongues over dinner, auburnfoot preferred to spend her time alone. she figured that if she was going to be anti-social at this hour she better attempt being productive as well. at last she reached the spot along the shoreline where she most enjoyed hunting.
the late sunshine was rippling across the current, dancing in slivers of golden and amber upon a moving body of dusty blue. within the shadows was even more movement, although this particular kind was erratic and in no harmony whatsoever. though the flashes of silver were still beautiful, the big feline's focus was no where near the aesthetic of the scene laid out before her, and much more honed on the possibility of catching dinner. an eventide breeze swept through her fur, giving her a shiver and casting the scent of another riverclan cat into her slightly parted maw.
so, before they could interrupt her solitary hunting session, the tabby darted forth in one liquid motion and dipped her paw into the water and back out, a writhing fish in her clutch. with a bite, it was motionless and she pushed it to the side to await whoever it was moving about in the distance. she scented them steadily moving closer while she casually returned to watching the sun setting on the water's face, though now the fish had completely scattered.
